Legendary coach Sven Goran Eriksson continues the tour of his old clubs and will be honoured by former players at Sampdoria vs. Reggiana on Sunday May 5.

The tactician has been shown an outpouring of love from football fans after announcing his cancer diagnosis and over the last few weeks has been making some dreams come true.

That included sitting on the Liverpool bench at Anfield for a charity friendly, as well as visiting old hunting grounds like Gothenborg and Benfica.

Eriksson on tour

The Swedish coach will be in Italy on Sunday at Marassi for Sampdoria’s Serie B match against Reggiana.

Eriksson won the Coppa Italia with Samp in 1994 and remained there for a five-year period from 1992 to 1997.

It wasn’t his only Serie A experience, also working at Roma, Fiorentina and Lazio.

Dozens of the players he worked with at Sampdoria will also be present this weekend to honour Eriksson and give him a memento before the match.
