Inter Milan CEO Confident ‘We’re Not Even Halfway Through This Cycle’ & Drops Striker Hint For Summer Transfer Window

Beppe Marotta feels that Inter Milan are “not even halfway through” their cycle under coach Simone Inzaghi.

The Nerazzurri CEO spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN ahead of this evening’s Serie A match against Torino, via FCInterNews. He also dropped a hint regarding the club’s search for a striker.

In the last three years, Inter have won the Coppa Italia twice, the Supercoppa Italiana on three occasions, and now the Serie A title.

Clinching the title against AC Milan last week was undoubtedly the crowning moment of Simone Inzaghi’s time as Inter coach so far.

The Nerazzurri had also reached last season’s Champions League final.

They only very narrowly lost out on Europe’s biggest club trophy to Manchester City.

This has been an impressive sequence of trophies for Inzaghi, even if there have been quite a few bumps in the road.

According to Inter CEO Marotta, though, the club don’t see this as anywhere near the end of the current cycle.

Marotta reflected that “This group has grown a lot.”

“We acquired experience in defeat,” he said of last season’s Champions League. “And determination and courage.”

“These are all very important qualities to have in order to achieve extraordinary results,” Marotta said.

The Inter CEO said that Inzaghi has “Passed his exam” as coach.

“The cycle has already begun under him.”

Marotta said of Inzaghi that “He’s now clearly shown not just that he’s a good coach – but also that he’s a winner.”

“We couldn’t possibly home to find or want anything better than him,” Marotta showered Inzaghi with praise.

“We want to continue this cycle under him,” the CEO added. “We’re not even halfway through this journey.

Meanwhile, there was also a word for the transfer market. Inter reportedly want to sign one more forward this summer.

“Next season there will be a lot of matches and competitions,” Marotta said.

“Including the Club World Cup.”

“We have to do everything we can to support the squad,” the Inter executive said. “While also taking into account sustainability.”
