The Chicago Blackhawks want to get a look at their young talent in the final weeks of the 2023-24 NHL season. After recalling Lukas Reichel from the Rockford IceHogs on Friday, the team summoned Wyatt Kaiser from the AHL club on Monday.

Kaiser began the season with the Blackhawks and posted four assists in 23 NHL games. But after a rough stretch of games in late November, the 21-year-old defenseman found himself in Rockford.

Kaiser returned to the Blackhawks as an injury replacement for two games in mid-December but has mostly played at the AHL level for the past four months. In 31 games with the IceHogs, Kaiser posted 15 points (three goals, 12 assists).

Now with some development time under his belt, Kaiser will get a chance to face NHL competition again. The Blackhawks have 14 games remaining on the schedule, which resumes Tuesday with a road clash against the Los Angeles Kings. Puck drop is at 9 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
