Tyler Boyd Reshapes Tennessee Titans WR Depth Chart for Will Levis
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Titans continued to overhaul the wide receiver position, by swinging for the fences and signing former Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Tyler Boyd.

Boyd, 29, arrives in Nashville after catching 67 passes for 667 yards and a pair of touchdowns during the 2023 season despite wildly inconsistent quarterback play in Joe Burrow’s absence for much of the season.

Signing Boyd continues the Titans’ offseason-long investment in bolstering the talent around second-year quarterback Will Levis.

How Signing Tyler Boyd Impacts Tennessee Titans Depth Chart

Boyd isn’t the only marquee addition the Titans have made at receiver this offseason.

In the early stages of free agency, the Titans added elite playmaker Calvin Ridley in free agency, on the heels of a 1,016-yard and eight touchdown 2023 campaign as Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s most prolific weapon.

Then, during the draft, the Titans chose former Tulane wide receiver Jha’Quan Jackson in the sixth round.

Signing Ridley and Boyd and drafting Jackson come one year removed from adding DeAndre Hopkins, so, Boyd’s addition rounds out one of the more electrifying receiving trios in the NFL.

Through his first eight seasons, all in Cincinnati, Boyd has pulled down 513 receptions for 6,000 yards and 31 touchdowns. In all likelihood, he’ll inherit the slot receiver role where he lined up on 85.3 percent of his snaps in a Bengals uniform.

Here’s a best guess of what the Titans’ wide receiver depth chart could look like when week 1 of the 2024 NFL season kicks off:

WR1 – DeAndre Hopkins

WR 2- Calvin Ridley

WR 3- Tyler Boyd

Given how wide open the AFC South is, general manager Ran Carthon and the Titans have built an offense capable of being as explosive as any of their division rivals and set the stage for the kind of season for Willis to either guide the franchise back to the postseason or prove that the organization needs to move in a new direction to maximize the star power they’ve assembled.
