A Seattle Seahawks veteran quarterback is retiring from playing in the NFL days after Mike Macdonald was announced as Pete Carroll’s replacement. The Seahawks had a lot of turnover with the coaching staff.

The Chicago Bears hired former Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, and quarterbacks coach Kerry Joseph for the same roles in head coach Matt Eberflus’ staff. Now the former Seahawks’ quarterback Sean Mannion is set to become Waldron’s and Joseph’s rival.

According to Brady Henderson with ESPN, Mannion is retiring from playing the NFL after nine seasons. Mannion has accepted a job with the Green Bay Packers to work with quarterbacks and the team’s passing game.

The St. Louis Rams drafted Mannion in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft. The Oregon State product started in three NFL games. He finished 67-of-110 passing for 573 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions during his time in the league.

Mannion spent time with the Minnesota Vikings as well.
