Reports: Jets trading Elijah Moore to AFC up-and-comer
Elijah Moore Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Elijah Moore was openly unhappy with his role in the New York Jets’ offense last season, but the speedy wide receiver no longer has to worry about that organization's schemes.

The Jets on Wednesday traded Moore and a third-round draft pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a second-round pick, according to multiple reports. The pick heading over to New York will be No. 42 overall while the Browns will be snagging No. 74 along with Moore.

The trade of the former second-round selection (2019) out of Ole Miss comes on the heels of the Jets reportedly agreeing to terms with former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman on a one-year contract. New York also added veteran wideout Allen Lazard last week.

A report early last season claimed that Moore had asked the Jets to trade him. The request came after he supposedly blew up on former Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur in practice.

Now that New York appears to be on the verge of landing Aaron Rodgers, one must wonder if Moore might have eventually changed his tune. He will have to learn to work with Deshaun Watson, instead.
