Report: San Francisco 49ers DT Might Not Play In Super Bowl; Update Given On George Kittle’s Injury
Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers’ injury report Friday gave an essential update on a few key players before the Super Bowl on Sunday. The 49ers could be without one of their defensive tackles when they play the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a concerning injury report

The Chiefs’ injury report looks more concerning than the 49ers Friday evening. The Chiefs ruled out two offensive linemen, including All-Pro Joe Thuney, for the Super Bowl.

A San Francisco 49ers DT is questionable to play on Sunday

Per Nick Wagoner with ESPN, the 49ers listed defensive tackle Kalia Davis as questionable to play the Chiefs on Sunday due to an ankle injury he suffered against the Arizona Cardinals in December.

George Kittle and Arik Armstead have been cleared to play

The 49ers had good news for tight end George Kittle and defensive tackle Arik Armstead. Both players were full participants at practice Friday and do not have an injury designation for Sunday.

Earlier in the week, the 49ers expected Armstead and Kittle to play in the Super Bowl. However, they were limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday’s injury report is an excellent sign for the 49ers since they were able to fully participate in the final practice before Sunday’s game.
