Ravens RB Devonta Freeman on track to start vs. Bengals

The Baltimore Ravens lost running backs Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill to season-ending injuries before Week 1 of the campaign but nevertheless went on to win five of their first six games.

Once again, the Ravens have been bitten by the injury bug, this time ahead of a pivotal divisional showdown with the 4-2 Cincinnati Bengals.

Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN, veteran Devonta Freeman is on track to be Baltimore's lead ball-carrier because Latavius Murray is out with a sprained left ankle. According to ESPN stats, Freeman is fourth on the Ravens with 95 rushing yards on 16 carries with one touchdown on the ground. He also has three catches for six yards.

"He's doing a nice job for us," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said of Freeman. "He's a downhill, explosive, accelerating-type runner with some size."

Hensley adds that veteran Le'Veon Bell and Ty'Son Williams are set to slot behind Freeman on the depth chart Sunday. Interestingly, Williams enters the weekend second on the Ravens among running backs with 170 rushing yards and a score on 31 carries.
