No Manningcast for Steelers-Browns on Monday Night Football
Peter Ackerman / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns will face each other on Monday Night Football in Week 2, but something that has become a big part of the MNF experience in recent years will be absent.

ESPN’s alternate Manningcast broadcast, featuring former NFL stars Peyton and Eli Manning, made its 2023 debut on Monday night as the Buffalo Bills played the New York Jets.

But the Manning brothers will have only 10 broadcasts over the 2023 NFL schedule, and they’re taking a few weeks off after the opener. The Mannings will not have another broadcast until Week 4, when the Seattle Seahawks are playing at the New York Giants.

The Manningcast is either broadcast on ESPN2, streamed on ESPN+ or both, with traditional broadcast crews working the main feed, which is usually on ESPN. The Mannings have been doing the secondary feed since 2021, and have won a Sports Emmy for outstanding live series.

This week will feature a Monday Night Football doubleheader, with the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers playing on ESPN at 7:15 p.m. and the Steelers and Browns on ABC at 8:15 p.m. The lead Monday Night Football broadcast crew of Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Lisa Salters will work the Steelers-Browns game.
