NFL Draft bets: NFC East betting odds for each team's first pick

Welcome to a new series we'll be running the next two weeks: A division-by-division NFL draft betting guide. Sportsbooks like DraftKings and FanDuel offer a multitude of bets and odds for the NFL Draft, with one of the more popular markets being the position a team uses their first draft selection on.

We'll start in the NFC with the NFC East, looking at the market favorites and our favorite bets as we gear up for the first round of the NFL Draft on April 25.

Note: Not every team is offered in this market. For example, teams like Chicago and Washington at the top of the board are widely expected to draft QBs, and as such, there is no market for these teams.

Odds are courtesy of DraftKings.

Position of 1st Drafted Player: NFC East edition

Philadelphia Eagles

The favorites:

  • Cornerback (-120)
  • Offensive Lineman (+225)
  • Defensive Line/EDGE (+250)

After trading Haason Reddick, could Philly add another pass-rusher? Considering they had difficulty getting one of their first round picks last year (EDGE Nolan Smith) on the field, don't count on it.

Corner is definitely a pressing need, with James Bradberry struggling in 2023 and Darius Slay heading into his age-34 season, and this year's draft is full of strong cornerback prospects.

We like CB, but the price on OL is far too strong to pass up here.

Philadelphia has consistently gotten succession plans in place early along the offensive line. A few seasons ago, they took OT Andre Dillard as they prepared to move on from Jason Peters. Jordan Mailata ultimately ended up winning that job with ease, another draft pick.

Two seasons ago, Philly drafted Cam Jurgens in the second round to study behind Jason Kelce, and now he's slotting in as the starter center with Kelce retiring.

The next plan of succession is Lane Johnston at RT, who is now 34 and has gone on record as saying he plans to play for just a few more years.

With a hole at RG, Philly seems likely to nab a lineman who can play RG in the near-term and slide to RT in the long-term to take over for Johnson.

Our choice: Offensive Lineman (+225)

New York Giants

The favorites:

  • Wide Receiver (-175)
  • Quarterback (+130)
  • Offensive Lineman (+900)

Wide receiver is a dire need for the New York Giants, who have lacked a bonafide WR1 since Odell Beckham left the team in 2018. Currently slotted at No. 6 in the draft, New York should have their choice of a few stud pass-catchers in Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze. For the sake of this exercise, we'll consider Marvin Harrison Jr. likely going No. 4 to Arizona.

We're never going to love a -175 price on a future unless our hands feel tied, so in the spirit of finding some plus-money, the most logical spot to turn is Quarterback being New York's pick at No. 6.

Smoke has been growing out of the Giants camp that New York is growing enamored of Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy, and with a trio of QBs seeming likely to go at the top of the draft, the Giants may want to join the party and hope McCarthy can pan out as an above-average starter.

The team still has Daniel Jones under contract for a few seasons, at a big number too, but he has been inconsistent. Again though, one could credit that inconsistency to the lack of a star WR.

Wide receiver is the pick we expect them to make, but value wise, the move is QB here.

Our choice: Quarterback (+130)

Dallas Cowboys

The favorites:

  • Offensive Lineman (-175)
  • Wide Receiver (+400)
  • Defensive Line/EDGE (+475)

This is another spot that seems a tad difficult to extract value, as everything we've read out of Dallas camp suggests OL is surely the pick, especially after the team lost a pair of starters in Tyron Smith and Tyler Biadasz this offseason.

Like their rivals the Eagles, Dallas has always put an emphasis on building through the trenches, and with a rich OT draft at the top, it's there we'd expect them to go to open things up later this month.

CeeDee Lamb is expected to sign a contract extension in the next few months, and Brandin Cooks remains on the team. Wide receiver does make some sense, but No. 24 in the draft appears to be an awkward spot to nab a WR, so expect Dallas to look there on Day Two instead.

Our choice: Offensive Lineman (-175)
