Mandatory Credit: Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Kareem Hunt the football player that we see on Sundays is a physical, tough and hard-nosed runner who will do anything to help his Cleveland Browns win.

Kareem Hunt the person, from Willoughby, Ohio, is doing his part this holiday season to help the less fortunate and those who are in need.

Hunt is teaming up with the Cardinal Credit Union, based in Mentor, Ohio, to fill the food pantries of the Willoughby Eastlake Schools. He is calling on the public to help in his effort.

People can make donations of non-perishable food items to any Cardinal Credit Union location. With your donation, you will be entered for a chance to win a meet and greet with Kareem himself. Donations will be accepted through December 9, 2023.

Hunt's football career began at Willoughby South High School where he was a standout. In his junior year, he rushed for 2,519 yards and 39 touchdowns just to come back his senior year and run for 2,685 yards and 44 touchdowns.

In his senior season, he lost out on being voted Mr. Football in the State of Ohio to one Mitch Trubisky, who will be under center for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night.

Hunt went from Willoughby South to the University of Toledo where he shined as a Rocket. He finished his career rushing for just south of 5,000 yards and 45 total touchdowns. His college career would lead him to become a third-round draft pick to the Kansas City Chiefs. Hunt would spend two years in Kansas City before returning to Cleveland in 2019.

Hunt would team up with Nick Chubb and together they would become one of the league's most formidable backfields. In 2023, the Browns decided to let Hunt test free agency and find a spot where he could be a number one back one more time. After not finding the perfect fit, he found himself back in the Orange and Brown after Chubb's week two injury.

The Browns and the Cleveland community are happy to have him back and his giving back to Willoughby Eastlake Schools is just another reason why.

Donations at any Cardinal Credit Union Location will be accepted through December 9. The list of locations can be found here.
