The ratings are in for last Sunday’s Würth 400 at Dover Motor Speedway, which was won by the No. 11 of Denny Hamlin.

According to Adam Stern of the Sports Business Journal, the event drew a rating of 2.401 views on Sunday. There’s no direct comparison for this season’s event, as last year the race at Dover was postponed until Monday afternoon.

“.@FS1 got 2.401 million viewers for Sunday’s NASCAR race @MonsterMile; no direct comparison to last year because that event was postponed to a Monday,” Stern posted on X. “Top five markets: 1) Greensboro – 3.43 2) Charlotte – 3.33 3) Norfolk – 2.58 4) Orlando – 2.14 4) Raleigh – 2.14.”

Alas, that’s a solid number for NASCAR, and FOX and the Cup Series will be happy with the amount of fans who caught the race, taking place on a beautiful afternoon in Delaware.

It was a historic win for the aforementioned Hamlin at Dover, as he joined Lee Petty for 12th all-time on the Cup Series wins list with the win, further cementing himself as one of the greatest in NASCAR history.

Lee Petty was the winningest driver in NASCAR, until his son Richard Petty surpassed him with his 55th career win in 1967 at Darlington. Denny Hamlin has now tied that benchmark of greatness. Lee was the first GOAT in the sport.

The fact that only 11 drivers have bested the 54-win mark in NASCAR history is telling. Wins are difficult to come by. One win is more than most drivers ever get to accomplish in the Cup Series. In 18 years, Hamlin has amassed 54 checkered flags.

Next up on the list is Rusty Wallace with 55 wins. Then, the top-10 gets more difficult. Kevin Harvick sits 10th overall on the wins list with 60 of his own. We’ll see if Denny Hamlin can continue adding to his total next weekend at Kansas, and if the NASCAR ratings continue to prosper.

Kyle Larson breaks down close loss to Denny Hamlin at Dover: ‘Just couldn’t really do anything’

While Denny Hamlin won, Kyle Larson fell short during the Würth 400 at Dover Motor Speedway on Sunday, coming in second place. After the race, Larson spoke to Jamie Little of Fox Sports about not being able to pass Hamlin to earn the victory.

“I went late in the zone and Martin [Truex Jr.] was trying to time it behind me and hit me right when I wanted to go, Larson said. “I got a lot of wheel spin and [Hamlin] was able to outrace me in the one.” Larson also mentioned that Hamlin’s car “was really good on the short runs. It’s so easy to air block, not that he was doing anything dirty or anything like that. It’s just so easy as the leader, especially in a place like this to shut off the air on the guys behind you.

“I knew when I got within three car lengths, he was going to start moving around,” Larson added. “I just couldn’t really do anything. I was trying all sorts of different angles and speeds and all that. Nothing could generate enough speed to get close enough to do anything.”

Larson continued: “That was a bummer but a great day for HendrickCars.com, Chevy team. Started 21st, drove up to sixth in the first stage and I got another stage win. Good points day, but we would have loved to get a win. Always fast here at Dover and we need to be a little better on the restarts.”

Alas, the wins will come for Kyle Larson if he keeps racing like he did at Dover, but he missed out on a checkered flag on Sunday afternoon.
