UCLA Football: Fans, Pundits Offer Takes On Chip Kelly's Defection For A Demotion
USA TODAY Sports

Former UCLA Bruins head coach Chip Kelly opted to take a demotion within the same conference rather than stick it out as the man in charge of the Bruins.

On Friday, players took to social media to voice their opinion and as the news has traveled around the sports world, the fans and pro pundits alike have aimed their best insults at the man who fled sunshine for snow.

Ryan Kartje who covers USC for the Los Angeles Times posted that Kelly should've resigned at the end of the season instead of leaving hours after signing day and leaving the program out to dry.

At the end of the day, Kelly and Ohio State had to pay UCLA $1.5 million for his buyout instead of UCLA paying Kelly if he had been fired.

Taking the demotion means he is just there to call plays. He doesn't want to go above and beyond to fulfill the duties of a head coach.

Fans and pundits will take their aim and come up with their best insults but the mediocre Kelly era is over. It is time to wake the sleeping giant in Westwood.
