Are Jim Harbaugh and the New York Jets a perfect fit?

ESPN analyst thinks Jim Harbaugh and the New York Jets are a perfect fit

Jim Harbaugh is reportedly "open" to returning to coaching in the NFL , could he be destined to try and rebuild the garbage fire that is the New York Jets? ESPN's Greg McElroy thinks it's a fit that makes a lot of sense.

"Don't sleep on the possibility of Jim Harbaugh maybe returning to the NFL from Michigan as a guy that could potentially take over that organization that has fallen on hard times," McElroy said on Get Up. "We know [Jets owner] Woody Johnson likes to make a splash."

The Jets are expected to move on from coach Adam Gase after the season (if not sooner), as the 0-9 team has already been eliminated from winning the AFC East after their loss to the Patriots last night. The team needs help on nearly every level and adding a guy like Harbaugh could be the first move in righting the ship.

Harbaugh was the San Francisco 49ers coach from 2011-14 and brought the team enormous success during his tenure, almost winning the Super Bowl against his brother John in 2012. But his time with the 49ers was also fraught with drama, with Harbaugh clashing with the team's ownership and general manager Trent Baalke.

It sounds like Harbaugh is ready to possibly give the NFL another go but the real question is if any team would want him. Donte Whitner, the former 49ers safety, said he is "1,000% positive there will be a market" for Harbaugh, while an anonymous NFL source said they'd be "surprised if it happens."
