Yardbarker NFL Blogger Poll: Week 14
The Rams are in trouble. Like, worse than "1-11 trouble". Last week they scored ten or less points for the 7th time this season *and* they lost their best defensive player (Oshiomogho Atogwe) for the season.
Most of all, the rest of the NFL slop continues to get better. The Raiders won, the Redskins should have, the Lions lost but aren't getting thrashed every week, and the Browns lost again but Brady Quinn has 7 TDs and 0 INTs in his last three games. Ah, screw it. They're all terrible still. It's all relative, I suppose.
The brightest spot for the Rams is the possibility of grabbing Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh in the #1 spot of the 2010 NFL Draft. He's a great player blah blah blah…but the last name "Suh" would look great next to current Rams DE, CJ Ah You. Ah You Suh. Me Ah Suh? Yes, Ah You Suh.
Other notables: Vikings hang on to our #3 spot despite an ugly performance and the Chargers cracked the top 5 for the first time.
Biggest movers: The Dolphins and Jags both jumped 5 slots to #15 and #16, respectively, and play each other this Sunday with the playoffs and our rankings on the line. That's pressure.

Panel Insights:
Black Sports Online: Am I the only one who thinks it is a bad thing for the either the Saints or Colts to go undefeated? Especially the Colts the only time they won the Super Bowl was the year people were calling them an underdog. They don't need that type of pressure. My suggestion to both the Colts and Saints: LOSE!!!!!!
Rumors & Rants: Can we just skip to a Colts-Saints game already?
Cold Hard Football Facts: Mark down the Packers as your Super Bowl darkhorse. They've been statistically proficient all year but now are finally living up to those standards on the field. They're No. 2 in Passer Rating Differential, behind only New Orleans, and No. 1 in Defensive Hog Index, our measure of each team's defensive front. The No. 1 team in DHI has won the Super Bowl each year since we introduced the indicator. So stuff that in your piehole.
Awful Announcing: Not much has changed this week. The Playoffs are definitely going to come down to homefield advantage though.
Sportz Assassin: I get the whole "Saints-Colts" wishes for the Super Bowl, but these playoffs should be quite amazing. All four of the division leading NFC teams are playing in domes (so does the AFC leading Colts) which should allow weather-free offensive action. These rounds prior to the big game should be fun. Could we see the Packers and Vikings face off again? I could go for another Patriots-Colts game in the division round. Maybe a rematch of last year's NFC title game with the Eagles and Cardinals mixing it up? There still is some fun to be had.
Midwest Sports Fan: Could it be? Could we have TWO unbeatens this year? Will be be a Superbowl for perfection? And what is going on in New England and Pittsburgh?
