Yardbarker Blogger Poll: Week 5
Yardbarker and Gillette Fusion are proud to present a weekly installment of NFL Power Rankings. Yeah, so everyone else does it. And yeah, so it's almost Week 5. Big deal.
Everyone else is just as unoriginal, but they can't match the eclectic blend of intelligence and smugness that lies beneath our rankings. That's for sure. And besides, most of last year's superiors (e.g., Colts, Giants, Patriots, Ravens) are still in a healthy position…and more importantly, most of last year's dopes (e.g., Chiefs, Lions, Browns, Rams) are still at the back of the line. What parody? See, you haven't missed a thing.
That said, it's time to get serious. Like, Rex Ryan cholesterol serious. Heyo - "fat coach" joke. Look out. Blogger in the house. Eight of them actually. These rankings are put together by eight of the brightest and most delusional blogs within the YB arena. We think it's a great mix and hope you can join us every Wednesday.
Joe Sports Fan: The Rams have been shutout twice in four games and were held to 7 points in their third contest. They didn’t have a red-zone possession at San Francisco and their average of 6 points per game in '09 would be the worst by an NFL team since the merger. During the franchises current 14-game losing streak, the Rams have averaged 11.4 points per game. Let stop there. In short; abysmal.
Black Sports Online: Shockingly my Super Bowl Picks of The Saints and Colts are also 1 & 2 in my rankings. Now wonder they call me a BonaFide Sports Expert.
RealGM: The Saints continue to run the table as the top team in RealGM's team rankings following their dominant victory over the Jets.
Cold Hard Football Facts: ‘Member when “parity” was all the rage among the pigskin “punditry?” You don’t hear much about that anymore, and for good reason: the gaping chasm between the NFL’s haves and have-nots hasn’t been this vast in decades.
Sportz Assassin: I've been very impressed with the Colts. The defense has played well above expectation and the offense seems to not be clicking with those young receivers.
Awful Announcing: I still think the Giants are the best team in Football, but you could make a case for any of the teams in the Top Ten.
Midwest Sports Fan: The Mannings seem to be the royal family of football. Giants and Colts are the best teams in the league right now. Watch out for the Saints.
